Interactive Digital Signage
TapGest builds the software layer that turns a standard digital signage screen into an interactive display people actually stop for — driven by movement, gestures, augmented reality or live two-way connection.
What is interactive digital signage?
Interactive digital signage is a screen that responds to the people in front of it instead of looping a passive video. The audience becomes part of the content: they see themselves on screen, control what happens, or play along.
TapGest develops the interactive applications that run on these displays. We work with the screens and locations our clients and their signage partners already operate — malls, arenas, outlets and stores — and deliver the experience layer on top.
Every interaction type we offer has been delivered in a live campaign: augmented reality overlays, hand gesture control, AR photo experiences, prize games and live studio-to-mall conversations.
How it works
1. Define the campaign idea
We start from the brand goal and the location: who passes the screen, how long they stay, and what should happen when they engage.
2. Build the interactive app
We develop a custom application — AR scene, gesture-controlled game or photo experience — matched to the brand's visual identity.
3. Add a camera-based interaction layer
A camera at the display detects visitors and their movement, so people can control the content without touching anything.
4. Install, test and run on site
The app is deployed on the display, tested in the real environment and supported for the duration of the campaign.
Best use cases
- Shopping mall campaigns that need to stop passing foot traffic
- Brand activations with a prize or giveaway mechanic
- Sport and event venues engaging fans before and between matches
- Retail and electronics areas demonstrating a product
- Seasonal and event-driven marketing moments
Key benefits
Attention, not just impressions
People participate instead of walking past a looping ad.
Memorable brand moments
Visitors leave with a photo, a prize or a story to share.
Built around your brand
Each application is designed for the campaign, not a template.
Works with existing screens
The interactive layer runs on digital signage already installed on site.

Do we need to replace our existing screens?
Usually not. Our campaigns run on digital signage displays already installed at the location; what we add is the interactive application and the camera-based interaction layer.
Do visitors have to touch the display?
No. Our interactive experiences are camera-driven, so visitors control them with hand gestures or simply by stepping in front of the screen.
Do visitors need to install an app?
No. The experience runs on the screen itself, so anyone walking past can take part immediately.
What kind of experiences can we run?
The formats we have delivered include AR overlays, AR photo experiences, gesture-controlled prize games such as a wheel of fortune or a scratch card, and live two-way conversations between a studio and a mall.
