AR Photo Booth Experiences
An AR photo booth lets visitors step in front of a screen and appear next to something that isn't physically there — a hockey legend, a literary figure or a brand character — and walk away with the photo.
What is ar photo booth experiences?
The AR photo booth is a photo experience built on augmented reality signage: the visitor sees themselves live on the display together with virtual content, strikes a pose, and the moment is captured.
Unlike a traditional photo booth it needs no cabin and no props — the scene is virtual, so it can be changed per campaign, per event or per day.
TapGest has delivered AR photo experiences with the Franz Kafka statue at Quadrio Mall in Prague and with Czech hockey legends for the Ice Hockey World Championship.
How it works
1. Prepare the virtual scene
Characters, backgrounds or captured personalities are produced for the campaign.
2. Visitor steps in
The camera picks them up and they see themselves on screen inside the AR scene.
3. Pose and capture
The visitor positions themselves next to the virtual content and the photo is taken.
4. Take it away
The photo is delivered to the visitor so it can be shared.

How is an AR photo booth different from a normal photo booth?
There is no booth and no physical backdrop. The visitor stands in front of a screen and the surroundings, characters or co-stars are rendered in augmented reality.
Can we use our own characters or ambassadors?
Yes. For the Ice Hockey World Championship campaign we captured real players so fans could pose with them in AR.
How long does one interaction take?
It is designed as a short, self-explanatory moment so that visitors in public spaces can take part without a long wait.
Where can it be installed?
Anywhere with space for a large screen and a camera — mall atriums, fan zones, event halls and exhibition stands.
